Has it really been that long??

Wow! Its strange to look at our family blog and see the last update was back in February.  Where has time gone? I guess the longer we are on the field, the more disconnected we get from life in the US.  In some ways this is a really positive thing. It means we are finding fulfillment in the place God has called us. We don't want to be constantly longing for America - we want to be fully present in and among the people we are working. On the other hand, we don't want to take for granted the friendships and prayer partners God has placed in our lives. We want to continue to deepen those friendships, even when we are thousands of miles a part. So forgive me for getting caught up in our day to day lives in Madagascar and getting behind in keeping you posted. There's so much to share!

We are now in the US, enjoying the start of our second stateside assignment. But before we arrived, we were quite busy with ministry! Grant finished our term with a leadership training for the Mahafaly church lay leaders in a small bush town. 16 leaders from 6 churches came to study God's Word for the week.  Several partnering pastors helped Grant lead this time of fellowship and discipleship. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to hear about all God is doing through these leaders and the believers in these groups. Villages are reaching villages, who are in turn reaching new villages. Third generation churches are being planted! One of the coolest parts during the training came when all the leaders from these diverse Mahafaly villages went out to a nearby village and held a Baptismal service. What a work God is doing by bringing these villages together in the name of Christ!

It is humbling and encouraging to see the work move so quickly even without our presence. With each trip south we make, the more we hear about how the Gospel message is spreading. We can't wait to see how God continues to grow these believers during our 4 month stateside.  Please pray for their continued faithfulness in growing in God's word and bringing it to unreached peoples.
