School Days
This year, Eli is getting a new school experience! For the past two years, he has done homeschooling with me at the house. This year (and next) he will be in a one room school house set up. Melissa will be working here as a teacher for the SW Madagascar team kids for the next two years. There are 5 kids, ranging from Kindergarten through 9th grade. This brave girl will have her hands full! The kids have all adjusted well to this new set up and are in full swing of the new school year. Please pray for Melissa - as it is going to be quite a job to keep up with 5 different students, all in different grades, and all studying with different curriculum! Fortunately, she is an amazing teacher and is up for the task!
Eli, is of course loving having classmates. Seriously loving it! He finally has friends to work alongside, laugh with, and even get into trouble with. Yes!...These little missionary kids can be quite mischievous. Lets just say that one child distracting the teacher so the other could pour bags of sand throughout the house, in order to make footprints, was not one of their finer moments! : )
I am so blessed to have some more free time at home with the two littles. This new schedule also allows me to spend more time out, ministering in the community. It really is the perfect time of life to have a teacher here. By the time Melissa leaves, all three of the boys should be in school - making it a little easier. Its pretty tough to keep to a full homeschool day with a one year old and two year old running around the house!
I will be able to do a little bit of the coursework for Eli at home, but most of his work is at school.
This year's curriculum for Eli includes:
ABeka core subjects (handwriting, math, phonics, reading)
Apologia Science: Botany
Apologia Bible
Story of the World Vol 2: Middle Ages
Classical Conversations (I do this at home with him)
Song School Latin (at home)
