Celebrating Lyllian!
The week of Thanksgiving, we were able to celebrate the upcoming arrival of our newest baby team member - Baby Lyllian! Nickolee has officially left for Johannesburg, South Africa for the delivery - but fortunately we were able to have her baby shower first! We had a great (and much needed!) girl's day. We watched maternity themed movies on a big screen projector and ate lots of yummy food.
We played a fun baby shower game that I would definitely recommend! We took the "Game of Things" and made it into a baby shower game. We made up our own maternity themed cards ("Things you don't want your doctor to say in the deliver room", "Things that swell when your pregnant", "Things that make you cry when your pregnant", "Things your husband should never say when your pregnant"...).
If you aren't familiar with the "Game of Things"...a reader, reads the card aloud and each person writes an answer on a sheet of paper. Everyone turns their paper into the reader, who then reads the anonymously written answers. The person clockwise of the reader begins the round by trying to match a person with their answer. If they get it right, they get one point and get to guess again. If they get it wrong, its the next person's turn. This continues until all answers have been matched with the person who wrote it. The last answer guessed correctly gets the writer an additional 2 points. Once the round is completed, the person clockwise of the original reader becomes the reader and picks a new card. This game is full of laughs, and is tons of fun!
Thank you Nickolee for giving us such a special reason to celebrate! You are such an amazing friend. We have been through so much together, and I cannot imagine being here without you. God definitely knew what He was doing when He brought us together. Words cannot express how much you mean to me!
