Southbridge May 2013 Part Two

After a full schedule of ministry in Tulear, the team headed 4 hours south to work among the rural Mahafaly.  They visited with three different villages (Andremba, Kilimary, and Besatra).  In each village the team focused on three main ministry areas...

1.  Worship:  Anna, David, Jared, and John brought their guitars and people gathered to hear them sing and worship the Lord.  This was such a special time for the Malagasy, as they place a high value on music.  It definitely drew the people together in a special and unique way!

2.  Adults:  JD led the adults in two main teachings.  The first was on the role of man and woman in marriage.  While this may be a common teaching in America, much of this was new to these isolated believers.  It was a great opportunity to challenge them to look at their roles as husbands and wives in light of God's word.  After that, JD taught on the biblical qualities of leadership.  This led to some great discussions and encouraged them to grow as Christian leaders.  Anna and Tessa were able to meet with and encourage the ladies during this time.

3.  Children:  The children of the villages are often a missed segment in our ministry.  During JD's teaching, some of the team split up and focused on the children.  They played games, laughed, wrestled, and loved on them.  The time was special for the children and the team!
