Reminder
Adjusting back to life here has been a little bit of a challenge. Ever since the cyclone, electricity has been at best inconsistent. Some of us have even had electricity cut for weeks! We have all come down with miserable sicknesses (I lost nearly 10 lbs last week!), probably from the water being worse off than usual. It has been hard to find joy in the tougher than usual living situation. I can't help but get frustrated when the electricity has been cut for 12 hours and the kids are crying because it is to hot to sleep. Of course I know that life could be much more difficult, and I am truly blessed - but in the moment I can't help but feel discouraged.
But God is faithful to always remind me of why He has called us here. This week Grant and they guys headed down to the bush to disciple the 4 villages of believers. Grant was so encouraged to see how much they are growing. In Kilimary, they were able to proudly retell Bible stories that they had obviously been practicing. They were even able to finish Doug's sentences as he was telling a new story - as they had been listening ahead to the Bible on audio!
In Besatra, 6 people made professions of faith in Christ alone and followed in believer's baptism. One man used to be the priest responsible for making sacrifices for the village...now he proudly declares Christ to be the perfect sacrifice. How awesome is our God!
