12 Weeks

I am officially 12 weeks pregnant! This is very exciting news for me, as it means that the first trimester is about to come to an end. As with my other pregnancies, I have been awful sick. I have pretty much spent the last month laying on the couch, trying to keep my food down. Grant has been working non-stop trying to take care of everyone. He has done an amazing job! When he is out in the bush, Tessa and her roomie Hannah come and stay with me and the kids. They have all been so great! As fun as it has been to lay around for the last month, I am beyond ready to get out of this house and start living life again! Yesterday, we were able to have our first ultrasound. The man doing the ultrasound had a hard time finding the baby. He looked for about 15 minutes and just kept telling us that there was no baby. It was awful! He told us that we needed to see a specialist in the capital. Right when he went to stop looking Grant spotted the babies fingers and pointed them to the guy. The man was really surprised and eventually found the baby. Everything looked good (heartbeat, size, and all)...but it was not my favorite ultrasound experience. In other news this month, Elijah can officially swim (more like doggy paddle) and Titus has two teeth and is getting ready to take off walking. Grant and the guys have had some great trips out to the bush this month and all four groups of believers are growing in their walks!

Jodie-We are so excited for your newest blessing! Can't believe the stress you must have felt with them not being able to find the baby-so glad that Grant was able to see him/her! Praying that the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly, that all your sickness subsides and you will enjoy being pregnant with Baby #3-this is so exciting!

Oh my goodness - what a frightening experience that ultrasound must have been! I'm so sorry y'all had to go through that. :(

Glad to hear the boys' latest milestones. :D I just met y'all's future teammates the Snyders tonight. They seem like a really sweet couple. I continue to be amazed at how your team grows! Love you guys...

Hey Jude!!!

We are excited to share that baby Jude has arrived! It was an unexpected and early arrival, but a welcome one nonetheless. His due date was November 28th, so we had about three more weeks to wait. So on Friday (Nov 9th), we drove up to Tampa for a baby appointment. The doctor checked me and said that there was no action going on...no signs of an early arrival. So we began the 2 hour drive back to Port Charlotte. About an hour from home those tricky braxton hicks contractions were getting pretty regular and by the time we had returned home they were coming less than 5 minutes a part! So we dropped off the kids with Grandma and headed back up to Tampa, praying that we wouldn't have to deliver a baby on the side of the road during the long drive back! Once we arrived at the hospital, it was confirmed that I was indeed in labor (2 1/2 weeks early). I was so blessed to have a special childhood friend be my labor and delivery nurse. Addition - Multiplication

We currently have two groups of believers that have been meeting regularly (Kilimary and Besatra). They are at an exciting part of their journey to becoming a reproducible church. They are about to finish learning (studying and memorizing) the evangelism track of stories, and are ready to go out to nearby villages and share the stories! In the next month they will be starting a new set of discipleship stories focused on developing their understanding of themselves in context of the Church. Last week, Grant, Doug, and Nathan headed down south to hold another evangelism event in two villages we have been developing relationships for several years (Andremba and Tanantsoa). Both villages have shown great trust in Grant, and have expressed their readiness to hear about God. The guys spent the past week going through the evangelism story set (20 stories from creation to Christ) with both villages.
