Meet Doug and Nathan

I know it has been a while since I posted, but life has been a little crazy around here! Fortunately, it has been good craziness :) Grant drove up to Tana and welcomed our new teammates to Madagascar. The Hailes family will be working with the Antandroy people, but will be spending the next 6 months or so studying Official Malagasy in Antsirabe.

Grant also welcomed our two journeymen, Doug and Nathan. They will be serving here with us for the next two years, working among the Mahafaly. Their main job will be evangelism, discipleship, and relationship building.

A few days after Doug and Nathan arrived, Grant and the guys headed to the bush for some rural training. Despite the culture shock, the guys had a good time getting to know the people and the place where they will be spending so much time over the next few years. They have already picked up so much about the culture and language. We are so impressed with their hearts and desire to honor God in their ministry here. We can't wait to see what God does through these amazing guys!

Once they returned from the bush (and got over their first bout of sickness), they started their urban training, which we are still in the middle of. Please pray that they would continue to get adjusted to life here, and that each day Tulear would feel more and more like home.

One of the best parts about having them here has been having more family. We are all so close here and they have fit in great. They have been amazing with the boys, and have taken right to helping out (even cooking and cleaning!). Their moms would be so proud! :)

YES! Indeed, one proud mama here! I love seeing Nathan's big, bright smile and WIDE eyes in whatever the Lord puts before him (including cooking & cleaning!). "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17 Nathan's world is filled with brothers, so it seems fitting that he would be holding another "little brother." And I love seeing "Brother Doug" alongside him and know that God has placed them with the "Mada" family for such a time as this! Thanks for being "on the other side" with open hands and hearts to receive them. We are praying for you ALL! Crystal Baker
