Southbridge VILLAGE MINISTRY






The rural team (Grant, Andrew, Steffi, Kelly, Michael, Jaime, Cara, Mirana, Chris, and Jonoro) were divided up into two groups: Agriculture and Medical. They visited three villages (Kilimary, Besatra, and Andremba)... one each day. The medical team taught on basic health and sanitary issues and had a lot of time of Q&A and hut-to-hut visits. The agriculture guys spent a lot of time having a cultural exchange with the men of the villages, learning about farming methods and talking through ideas with them. Both groups couldn't have gone better! We learned so much about the people on this trip that we would have never known otherwise. We feel so much more equipped for reaching these people!

Hundreds of men and women showed up each day and the Mahafaly people seemed to really understand and take to heart the things that they were hearing. They were incredibly encouraged by the team coming out and were very thankful. The team learned so much, and from this trip we should be able to put together some long term goals in helping see community development among these villages.

The team did a great job of keeping the believers focused on the Lord in their circumstances, and the Gospel was shared MANY times throughout the trip. They even saw some non-believers come to Christ! This trip really couldn't have gone better - thank you for all of your prayers.

Hey Jude!!!

We are excited to share that baby Jude has arrived! It was an unexpected and early arrival, but a welcome one nonetheless. His due date was November 28th, so we had about three more weeks to wait. So on Friday (Nov 9th), we drove up to Tampa for a baby appointment. The doctor checked me and said that there was no action going on...no signs of an early arrival. So we began the 2 hour drive back to Port Charlotte. About an hour from home those tricky braxton hicks contractions were getting pretty regular and by the time we had returned home they were coming less than 5 minutes a part! So we dropped off the kids with Grandma and headed back up to Tampa, praying that we wouldn't have to deliver a baby on the side of the road during the long drive back! Once we arrived at the hospital, it was confirmed that I was indeed in labor (2 1/2 weeks early). I was so blessed to have a special childhood friend be my labor and delivery nurse. Addition - Multiplication

We currently have two groups of believers that have been meeting regularly (Kilimary and Besatra). They are at an exciting part of their journey to becoming a reproducible church. They are about to finish learning (studying and memorizing) the evangelism track of stories, and are ready to go out to nearby villages and share the stories! In the next month they will be starting a new set of discipleship stories focused on developing their understanding of themselves in context of the Church. Last week, Grant, Doug, and Nathan headed down south to hold another evangelism event in two villages we have been developing relationships for several years (Andremba and Tanantsoa). Both villages have shown great trust in Grant, and have expressed their readiness to hear about God. The guys spent the past week going through the evangelism story set (20 stories from creation to Christ) with both villages.
