Sports Evangelism at the University

What a week we have had. Probably one of the busiest weeks since living in Madagascar- and that's saying a lot! In celebration of the World Cup, we hosted a one week sports evangelism event at the University here in Tulear. Our church, along with a youth group from Tana, worked together to organize and facilitate the event. The week ended up being more hectic than we expected, as lodging fell through at the last minute for the team of 9 from Tana. We ended up keeping all of them at our house for the week! But God is good, and in the midst of all of the stress we were able to see God open so many doors for people to hear and receive Christ. Here is a look at what our daily schedule looked like:

7:00 Breakfast for group
8:00 Eli to school, running errands
9:00 Door to door evangelism on campus
10:30 Sports games on campus (teaching American football, etc); Pick up Eli
12:00 Bible Study on campus
2:00 Get home; Lunch for group
3:00 Cleaning; errands
4:00 Pick up Tulear youth - set up for night games
5:00 Showing of World Cup games on Big screen
7:00 A few of us return home to make and bring food for rest; Jesus Film/Testimonies
9:00 Night Game of World Cup; Take youth home
12:00 Bed Time

On top of all that we also had a special soccer tournament on Saturday and Sunday and an English club event. Can you see how we were pretty exhausted?? But it was worth it! Hundreds showed up for the World Cup games at night. What an opportunity we had to show the Jesus Film and for them to hear testimonies from our team members as well as watch a video of testimonies from famous soccer players. Decisions were made for Christ and many have become interested in learning about God! We can't wait to see how God uses this event to further His Kingdom here in Tulear!
